I spend lots and lots of time searching for information online. I have discovered that paper filing system information online is scarce. Because I have spent many years in this field I thought it would be helpful to create a forum designed to provide all of us still working with paper files relevant information along with a venue to vent.
Here is an index of all the filing help articles.
My website is a great place to find filing system related products.

Your blog is awesome! I was so excited to find it as there is not a whole lot of information on the web about file systems. I am a productivty coach in Canada and do LOTS of file system set up. You have some great and valuable information on here!! Thanks for your fabulous blog – nice to know there are other file geeks out there. I will check out your website shortly.
Thank you for your kind words. I am also glad to find another company dedicated to helping offices become more efficient!
I have searched for months to find information on paper filing and just now found this blog. LOVE IT!!
I am a medical records clerk at a small hospital that still uses paper. They will be transitioning to electronic files in 2 years. I was hired 8 months ago and walked into what can only be described as a hot mess. The records clerk position had not been filled in months and, as a result, they had a back log that spanned an entire wall as well as a grey cabinet top to bottom!! I have exactly 20 hours a week to tackle not only the work that comes in, but take care of several months of back log and I’m just overwhelmed. The Emergency Department records and Ancillaries (Outpatient records, EKG’s, Sleep studies, Radiology Reports, etc.) are the absolute WORST, the reason being that our hospital sees an average of 80-100 patients per day in the ER and it’s like a tidal wave of paperwork crashing on top of me as soon as I walk in the door. I do all the filing by myself so it’s imperative that I find some way to at least keep my head above water with the filing of the ED’s and ancillary reports. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could speed this process along?
Alisha,
Wow, you really are facing a big challenge! I will email you my phone number so we can discuss how you are currently handling these records.
Thanks for your comments!
